Overview
Since 2017, KIKK collaborates with the CCN / Centre culturel de Namur to run a residency program dedicated to exploring the intersections between arts, sciences, technologies and society.
In 2026 edition, the KIKK x CCN residency will host two artists as part of the residency program:
One international artist
One artist from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (resident in Wallonia or Brussels)

Research Context
This program is supported by four key partners:
KIKK: coordination and curatorial support
Centre Culturel de Namur: support and residency spaces
Trakk: access to the ProtoLab & MediaLab
Le Pavillon: exhibition space dedicated to digital cultures
The aim of this residency is to foster interdisciplinary research, experimentation, and artistic creation through digital and technological media, providing a framework conducive to exploration, prototyping, and dialogue across disciplines.
Proposed projects should fall within the field of arts, sciences & technologies and may explore (non-exhaustive list):
Generative art and AI-based practices
Data visualization and sonification
Biotechnology, bioart, and living arts
Interactive and immersive installations
Digital fabrication and speculative design
Algorithmic, robotic, and kinetic art
XR projects (VR, AR, MR)

Residency Support & Facilities
Residency Duration
Monday, April 27 – Friday, May 22, 2026
Residency Location
Artists will be accommodated in two independent apartments (studios of 39–47 m²), each capable of hosting up to two people, at CCN / Centre culturel in Namur – former Abattoirs de Bomel.
Funding & Support
As part of the program, artists will receive:
Curatorial guidance and support from the KIKK team
Fully equipped accommodation at CCN (studio 39–47 m²): bathroom, kitchenette, workspace, bedroom, and internet access
A €5,000 grant for project development, covering production costs, materials, food, and travel
At Trakk, artists will have autonomous access (subject to availability) to various equipment:
—> ProtoLab: 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC milling machine, vinyl cutter, and other fabrication tools
—> MediaLab: recording studio, binaural microphone, motion capture suit, VR headset, and computers optimized for game engines
Finally, if approved by the KIKK curatorial team, projects may be presented to the public during an edition of the KIKK Festival or at the Pavillon.
Commitments
Artists residents agree to:
Develop their artistic research project during the residency period
Participate in a public open studio at the CCN to share their approach and research with the public

Application
The residency program has no age limit and candidates must be able to communicate in English or French. Projects may be:
In development and requiring financial support to be completed
Existing, provided additional funding is justified to improve or expand the project. In this case, an explanatory note must specify the impact of the additional funding

Applications must be submitted via the dedicated online form.

Before completing the online form, please prepare the following documents:
An artistic statement (150–250 words)
A description of the project proposal developed during your residency in Namur. This can include working/research processes, themes, visuals and technical sketches,… (PDF - max. 3 pages)
Budget: a detailed table showing how the €5,000 grant will be allocated
Curriculum vitae (PDF - max. 4 pages)
Portfolio: a selection of past projects (PDF - max. 15 pages)
Incomplete or non-compliant applications will be rejected.
